Happy Planning! xoxo
There’s only 21 days left until Christmas! Even though my holiday shopping has been less than eventful – I have managed to purchase a bunch of unnecessary things for myself….Merry Christmas to me?
Just a tip: If you plan on shopping online this year don’t forget to check out Retail Me Not for promo codes and coupons! Enjoy!
With the holidays just around the corner, it is easy to make excuses to forgo the gym, indulge in extra calories and over stress. But with a wedding dress to fit into in less than six months, adding on the pounds is out of the question.
To make sure my dress will be taken in during my first fitting instead of having the seams taken out, I am committed to a 5am cardio session (starting next week…) and I try to keep my sweets to a minimum but with so many tempting treats around, sticking to a plan is sometimes a little tough. Here are a few tips to help maintain your figure during the holidays.
Skip the Gym: You don’t need an expensive membership or a fancy home gym to stay in shape. With a little will power and creativity you can turn your living room into a personal training paradise. When I can’t make it to the gym I grab a jump rope and start skipping. Jumping rope for 25 minutes will burn about 200 calories and is a great way to tone-up when you’re in a time crunch. Remember moving for at least 20 minutes is better than not moving at all. For more fast workout routines check out Shape.com.
Gain Control: Limit your portion size and indulge in moderation. To keep your portions controlled opt for a smaller plate and limit the amount of food you pile on. Skipping seconds will also help save calories but if that is not an option, try replacing soda with water and just say no to holiday cocktails. Don’t Stress! Over eating, forgetting about the gym and taking some time out just to relax is perfectly acceptable. Just don’t use the holidays as an excuse to binge until the new year. If you happen to over indulge don’t fret, you can always burn off the extra calories shopping!
