I am currently stalking…

There is a blog I am currently stalking….TheCourtneyKerr.com is a fashion blog by the star of Bravo’s “Most Eligible Dallas,” Courtney Kerr.  She is a southern fashionista with a great sense of style and her blog is a great resource if you are looking to spruce up your look.  My favorite part about the blog is the fact that all the clothes are reasonably priced and links are provided to each store, so purchasing and putting together your own version of the outfit is a cinch!

From reading her blog I found a few really amazing sites, like BaubleBar.com and Shoemint.com, both are amazing and for signing up, each store offers a discount for first time shoppers.

If you are a soon-to-be bride or bridesmaid, Bauble Bar has some great necklaces and bracelets and for under $100 you can score some amazing pieces.  I am on the waiting list for the necklace below and hopefully I can purchase it for an upcoming wedding I am going to in November.  I plan on making a statement…and I think this necklace can help me achieve that goal.

Save Money on Calligraphy…

and buy a custom stamp.

I put it off for over a month and now the time has come to tackle the “Thank You” cards. But before I hand write my return address on each envelope I opted for a chic custom stamp by Rachel Carl and Co. (like the one shown above) to help sign, seal and deliver my letters of gratitude.

It’s no secret that I am obsessed with Etsy.com and of course that was the first place I looked when I decided to purchase a personalized stamp. For about $40 I found a design that I loved and I can not wait to start stamping…and thanking people for their generous gifts!

For each guests envelope I plan on printing each address myself with the help a free font that I found on a website. (check here, here, and here for samples and ideas) The fonts are easy to install and can be used for so many other wedding and event things.

As far as thank you cards, I plan on ordering from Wedding Paper Divas and I am leaning toward this design:

Happy Planning! xoxo

Simple and Sweet – Lollipop Flower-Pot

Here is a simple DIY idea that will make a perfect centerpiece or gift.

All you need is a flower-pot, a floral ball, lollipops and paint. Plus, it’s an excellent stress reliever! Stabbing lollipop sticks into a styrofoam ball is actually very therapeutic.  Oh and here’s a tip.  Start from the bottom and work your way up.  enjoy!

Marshmallows Make Everything Better…

Sometimes you just need to indulge…

Toasted Marshmallow Shake

3 heaping scoops vanilla ice cream {I used Blue Bell}

1 tablespoon whole milk {Substituted with fat free}

I large dollop of plain yogurt {Can be optional since I didn’t have any…}

5 Kraft Jumbo Jet-Puffed marshmallows

3-5 ice cubes {Optional}

1 teaspoon vanilla

Whipped cream

Recipe:

1) Toast marshmallows under a broiler, or if you are brave over a flame until they just start to blacken evenly (the trick is to make sure it’s evenly toasted and dark, but not turned to charcoal).

2) Put the milk, yogurt, and then ice cream in the blender. Blend carefully, just until you get a “donut”—when you see the shake holding to the sides of the blender with a hollow core.

3) Add three of the toasted marshmallows to the blender, and whirl it just until they’re all broken up and distributed evenly.

4) Pour shake into a glass, top with a dollop of whipped cream, break the last two marshmallows on top, and serve with an extra-wide straw.

5) Must serve with fun straw.

6) Repeat if necessary….and it will be necessary…

It’s 5 o’clock somewhere:  Add a shot or two of dark rum…enjoy!
